Joshua Emanuel Bey is
an urban revitalization specialist, and is Managing
Partner of J. Pretlow, Co. His immense urban
revitalization experience of 40 years in design,
planning, and construction meets current standards for
delivering challenging projects for Pretlow clients.
Under his leadership Joshua continues the Pretlow family
linage that stands for 123 years in the construction
industry. Joshua is the fourth generation. John's
grandfather, Peter "Pete" Pretlow was a builder at the
turn of 20th century, and was widely known for building
"Southern Baptists" Churches as they grew in popularity
across the south. Established 1845 in Augusta Georgia,
the Southern Baptist today has over 16 million members
and 42,000 churches and is now commonly known as the
Progressive Baptist.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The
architect shapes man's environment by designing
buildings and the spaces and relationships inside
around, and among them. The architect's objective is to
bring order to this environment, to cause it to function
properly within structures that are safe and healthy,
and to impart all a beauty and distinction that are
appropriate to our time. Craftsmen with proper
management take the architect's designs to form.
Pretlow manages projects from its conception, to the
start of construction, to finish. As "Owners
Representative", Pretlow will conduct all functions with
obtaining political endorsements, liaison to community
representatives, and City Government. We possess the
capacity of conducting all procedures from programming
to -design - to construction.
PREDEVELOPMENT PHASE
The
development teams carry out every procedure needed to
make way for actual construction. Obtain proper
licensing; filing zoning applications; Phase I & Phase 2
environmental testing; and structural engineer reports.
Pretlow also facilitate as Construction Manager and/or
Owner(s) Representative, which calls for the day - to -
day management, the preparation and submittal of
necessary documentation including
Contractors/Subcontractors Agreements, construction
budgets, project scheduling, acquisition, insurances,
warrantees, bonding, permits, and any additionally
required documentation required by the specific
municipality of which the project is intended.
